Happening Thursday: Alumni Panel with Wesleyan Watson Fellows

Happening Thursday: Alumni Panel with Wesleyan Watson Fellows, Justin Kim (’19), Momi Afelin (’19), and Mica Fisher (’17).

The Watson Fellowship provides $36,000 plus support toward health coverage and student loan payments for fellows to undertake an independent project during a full year spent outside the US.

Join us Thursday 4/28 at 1:30pm on Zoom to hear about the Watson Fellowships from Wesleyan graduates who’ve completed their Watson year. Hear about their travels, get inspired about what you might do, and ask questions! Register here (bit.ly/390znZ2)

Wesleyan students are only eligible to apply for the Watson Fellowship in the fall of their senior year, so if you’re in the Class of 2023, now is the time to learn about the Watson Fellowship! (If you’re in 2024 or 2025, you’re welcome to come hear about this opportunity and think ahead 😊)

Questions can be directed to fellowships@wesleyan.edu.

REMINDER! Please Confirm your Diploma Name by Monday April 18.

To ensure that your full legal name is spelled correctly on your diploma, we are asking you to confirm your diploma name.  Please confirm your name as soon as possible.

In your WesPortal under ‘My Information’ click on Diploma Name. The name that we currently have on file will be displayed on this page.  If your name is correct, please click on Confirm/Update button at the bottom of the page.  If your name is not correct, please make any necessary corrections before selecting the Confirm/Update button.

Please note that you will only be able to update your name once per day – if you confirm your name in error, you will need to return to the page the following day to make any corrections. If your name contains special characters or accents, please confirm the spelling of your name without the characters or accents.  In order to make sure that the special characters or accents appear correctly on your diploma, you will be asked to link to the Special Character Diploma Name Confirmation form and send it to the Registrar’s Office.

To make a correction to your legal name for all other university records, you will need to bring a form of legal identification (birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, or legal name change document if your name has been legally changed) to the Registrar’s Office.

The diploma name system will close on Monday, April 18th at 11:59pm.

Graduation Announcements, Cap and Gown, and Commencement Information

Dear Seniors,
We still have graduation announcements available in the Dean’s Office for pickup. Announcements are complementary graduation announcement cards that you may send to family and friends. You may stop by my office in North College 217 or North College 201 to pick up announcements.
Invitations/Tickets are not required for the May 22, 2022 graduation ceremony and you may invite as many people as you would like. Wesleyan University is following COVID guidelines and guests must be fully vaccinated. Please have guests Register by May 5, 2022. I would recommend reviewing this link for more information regarding Commencement and registration: https://www.wesleyan.edu/rc2022/
Students may purchase cap and gown regalia in mid-May directly from the RJ Julia Bookstore if the online ordering deadline was missed. I would recommend following up with the Bookstore in early May for specific dates.
Best wishes,
Dean Guerrero
